about

Optometry News Network (ONN) is our digital venue solution that was branded and developed by Clinical Networks Inc (CNI). ONN was created from a desire by Drs John Peacock and Hari Amarnath to ‘improve’ the patient experience and support the eye health objectives of their practice. This objective is one which is shared by independent optometrists across Canada and provided the foundation for the development of ONN. The release in July of 2007 of ONN has been followed up by managed growth and continual improvement of our product, the delivery platform and our ability to ensure your patients have a fulfilling clinic experience.

The needs and demands of today’s patients are ever-changing and this is compounded by the array of products and services that are continually being developed and made available to patients and doctors alike. It’s hard work for everyone in the optometry community to stay on top of all the changes and improvements being made. This challenge is heightened by the frequency that patients come to see their eye doctor. ONN aims to keep your messaging simple and provide contextually relevant content for your patients.

ONN is an enabler, allowing the eye doctor to make the most of the patient visit and tackle the challenge of keeping patients educated and properly informed on the choices and options of products and services that are available to meet their eye care needs.

We rely upon input from our clients and various industry participants to improve our product and ensure that we enable you to maximize the experience of your patients.

Dr. Hari Amarnath obtained his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 1999. Before purchasing his own clinic in 2002, Dr. Amarnath honed his optometry and business skills within select optometry and ophthalmology clinics across the country. Committed to staying at the forefront of the patient care, diagnostics, and practice management Dr. Amarnath continues to implement advancements within his own practice and encourage them within the industry. In 2002 along with Dr. John Peacock and Jeff Vormitagg he helped co-found Optometry News Network. Initially created for his own practice, he has helped grow ONN across the country for independent optometrists in Canada.

Dr. John Peacock graduated in 1999 with a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo. He began his career working in a large, successful practice in Vancouver before joining forces, in 2002, with his colleague Dr. Amarnath. Their clinic has grown at a tremendous rate primarily by focusing on customer service and offering cutting edge eyecare. After extensive clinic renovations Drs Amarnath and Peacock decided it was time to retire the product posters. As a busy clinic the Doctors felt they needed a modern way to introduce their patients to the advanced products and services available to them. And so, in 2007, with the help of technology expert Jeff Vormittag and business consultant Bob Langlois ONN was founded.
